Athens E. Pellegrino: Founder of Military Family Life Publishing LLC + Military Life With Athens

Athens E. Pellegrino is a military spouse, mom of three, DoD Employee, and founder of Military Family Life Publishing LLC + Military Life With Athens. She and her family are currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where her husband serves and she works as a Contract Specialist for the Marine Corps.

Like many military spouses, Athens wears multiple hats, raising young kids, working full-time, and managing life overseas. And alongside all of that, she runs a mission-driven business dedicated to supporting military families through the realities of this lifestyle.

“I know firsthand the ups and downs of this lifestyle—PCS moves, deployments, and the constant shift of “home.” That lived experience fuels everything I create.”

Athens’ journey into entrepreneurship started with parenting through military life transitions. The idea was born from her own personal need. From the constant transitions that come with military life, especially the moves, she saw the ripple effects on her children.

Athens reflects, “I wanted to help them make sense of what was happening, to give them something comforting and empowering.”

Military Family Life Publishing LLC was born. With a focus on storytelling, her first children’s book series, The Military Child Chronicles, helps military kids navigate PCS moves, holidays apart, overseas assignments, and the highs and lows of military life. All rooted in her own family’s experiences within military life.

As she continued to connect with more and more families, Athens realized it wasn’t just the kids that needed support, it was the entire family unit.

This sparked the evolution to what would become Military Life With Athens.

Military Life With Athens is a lifestyle platform created for the modern military family. What started with children’s books grew into a broader mission: to offer real-life resources, support, and community for spouses and families trying to find balance, joy, and resilience in this ever-changing lifestyle.

The platform offers:

  • PCS-friendly meals and routines
  • Budget and financial strategies for families on the move
  • Career advice and resources for military spouses
  • Travel guides for turning duty stations into adventures
  • Home organization and style tips to make any house feel like home

“While The Military Child Chronicles remains the heart of what I do, Military Life With Athens is the next chapter—an evolving, supportive community filled with tools, resources, and encouragement designed to help military families not just get by, but truly thrive in every season of their journey.”

Athens shares that the move to Okinawa was filled with curiosity and, naturally, a little anxiety. Entering a new culture brings unknowns, especially with children.

This experience sits at the heart of her mission, turning the unknown into an adventure. “It helped me realize the power of perspective, preparation, and community in shaping how our children view the world,” she shares. This experience has become a bridge for so many other families navigating that same journey.

Resiliency, for me, comes from community, purpose, and perspective. I stay grounded by connecting with others who truly understand this life—the military spouses, the parents, the service members, and the children.

My work gives me purpose, and that purpose keeps me going even on the hard days. I’ve learned that flexibility and grace (for myself and others) are essential. And most of all, I remind myself that we’re never in this alone—we rise by lifting each other.

From one children’s book to building a platform reaching military families around the world, Athens has built a community grounded in authenticity, practicality, and support. Her work continues to create resources she once needed, and that so many families benefit from today.
